November Gardening Checklist<\/h2>

A practical guide to flowers, fruit & veg, greenhouse care, and houseplants this month<\/em><\/p>

\u00a0Flowers & Borders<\/h3>

  • Plant tulip bulbs in pots and borders.<\/p><\/li>

  • Lift and store dahlia tubers after the first frost.<\/p><\/li>

  • Order seed catalogues and plan for next year.<\/p><\/li>

  • Plant bare-root hedging, roses, trees, and shrubs.<\/p><\/li>

  • Clear faded climbers like sweet peas and morning glory.<\/p><\/li>

  • Cut back tatty perennials and mulch the soil.<\/p><\/li>

  • Plant a Japanese maple in a sheltered pot.<\/p><\/li>

  • Remove diseased rose leaves to prevent black spot.<\/p><\/li>

  • Move alpine plants under cover and refresh gravel mulch.<\/p><\/li>

  • Protect borderline hardy plants (e.g. agapanthus) with mulch.<\/p><\/li>
